Deschutes Justice Court has jurisdiction over Deschutes County, excluding the city limits of Bend.

With Billy Chinook, Suttle, and Blue lakes and Ochoco, Haystack and Prineville reservoirs nearby the residents of Redmond can swim and fish for summer steelhead and rainbow trout. Redmond is also close to Mt. Bachelor, which offers several skiing areas for alpine and cross country skiers.
