The Klamath County Justice court has jurisdiction in all of Klamath County.

Sometime in the second half of the nineteenth century the Town of Linkville, which later became Klamath Falls was formed at the mouth of the Link River. At the beginning of the 20th century the Klamath Reclamation Project, which was funded by the federal government became operational. Although Klamath Falls was rich in forests it was far too remote from major markets to make money. However; a few years after the Klamath Reclamation Project, the Southern Pacific Railroad arrived in Klamath Falls and the city's fortunes vastly improved. In recent years, along with the construction of several large housing developments the economic emphasis has shifted to the many new businesses locating in the area.
