ABOUT THE AREA
You can take nice long walks along the shores of Lake Michigan on the beaches. You can also canoe down the rivers that flow into Lake Michigan. It is perfectly safe and the currents are not so high. The Seney Wildlife Refuge records some of the rarest migratory birds. There are also other types of wildlife like elk and rarely moose. During spring time the water rapidly increases in speed and the phenomenon is called Kitchi-ti-kipi. It is magical to watch all this transformation.
