Southdale County Court is a suburban division (Division IV) of the Hennepin District Court and has jurisdiction over all non-felony traffic and criminal cases for Airport (MAC), Bloomington, Edina, Richfield & St. Louis Park. State Hways 62 and 100 run through and intersect in Edina and divide the City into four sections. State Hway 62 extends West into US Hway. 212 which intersects US Hway. 169. IS 494 runs East-West in the Southern part of town and State Hway 7 runs East-West in the Northern part of town. IS 35W runs along the Western part of town.

A Scotsman, moved to the area in the 1860's and bought the town Mill and named it the Edina Mill in honor of the town where he was born, Edinborough. Edina is located southwest of Minneapolis and has a sizable population of over 47,000. The historic George W. Baird House, a two-story, red brick, Eastlake style cottage built in the 1880's is listed in the National Register of Historic Places and is a present day residence. Another historic residence, the Jonathan Taylor Grimes House, is also listed in the National Register of Historic Places.

Judges are assigned to hear cases on criminal matters on a rotating schedule at the Suburban Divisions.
