The Maplewood County court is the suburban division of the Ramsey County District court. This court handles criminal and traffic cases charged in the fifteen cities of suburban Ramsey County ( Arden Hills, Falcon Heights, Gem Lake, Lauderdale, Little Canada, Maplewood, Mounds View, Brighton, North St Paul, North Oaks, Roseville, State Fair, Shoreview, Vadnais Heights, White Bear Lake, White Bear Township) as well as the State Fair grounds.

Maplewood is a fairly large suburb with a population over 36,000. The Maplewood Nature Center is a great place to visit , especially if you have kids. Here you will find interpretive exhibits, Demonstration gardens including rainwater gardens and butterfly gardens as well as a field of grass which is never mowed. And of course there are trees; trees to picnic under and trees to just enjoy. In addition the city has over 30 parks. Battle Creek Regional Park covers over 1,800 acres. Many species of wildlife including deer, fox, herons, egrets and hawks can be seen by those who choose to walk the trails throughout this park. In addition there is a new mountain biking trail, with over 6 miles of combined multi-use trials and single track mountain biking use.
