ABOUT THE AREA
Originally known as Liberty, name changed when the town incorporated in 1891. Located near I-390, NYS Rtes 371, 415 & County Rd 121. "Cohocton", an Iroquois phrase meaning "log in the water", is also the name of the river, known for its trout. The Larrowe House is listed on the NYS Registry of Historical Places.
