|About the area
||The sizeable population of Alabaster, just shy of 30,000 people fueled by a growth rate of well over 60 percent in the last ten years, enjoys a very good median household income coupled with a fairly low cost of living index compared to the US. The CityFest celebration, which was originally started to celebrate Alabaster’s 50th birthday is visited by thousands. They can enjoy live music, games and rides as well as the food offered by vendors. Visitors to the city should be sure to go to the American Village where buildings and costumed personages provide a flavor of early colonial America. Don't be surprised if you run into Thomas Jefferson as he prepared to write The Declaration of Independence. The Encampment is an example of what life was like for a soldier in The Continental Army
