| About the area |
The Shawnee Indians sold approximately 10,000 acres around 1857 to the Eudora Homestead Association. This was a 600-member stockholder group of Germans in Chicago. Three of their members who actually lived at the site founded the town of Eudora in that year. The city is located at the place where the Wakarusa river and the Kansas river meet. The Eudora Community Museum, which is operated by the area's Historical Society, has created exhibits devoted to Eudora’s history.
