This township of nearly 28,000 people was named after NJ Governor Voorhees who authorized the creation of the township. Echelon Mall in nearby Echelon is quite close to the town. In fact, it is speculated that the mall will soon be renamed as the \'Voorhees Town Center\'. Woodcrest Country Club is quite close to the Courthouse too. The numerous lakes in and around the township have contributed in Voorhees being a resort town. Route 73 runs through the township. US Rt 30 and Interstate 295 are nearby too.
