New London is the smaller of the counties in Connecticut. It is the sea port city and the US coast guard academy is located here. People can visit the submarines and the coast guard ships which are kept in the port. From a history stand point New London was located strategically on the Long Island Sound and the Thames River it was a prominent trade point and a shipping and whaling center. But today New London is a sleepy little place which boasts of beautiful homes and architectural extravagance.
