One of the most pleasant city courts in the entire State of New York. Note that the map shows it to be southeast of the intersection. It's really on the northeast corner in City Hall. Saratoga Traffic Court gets a bit of speeding tickets from I-87, and some other infractions mostly from Broadway.
Due to construction, the main building entrance is closed at the moment (10/2008), and you enter on the north side of the building (from Route 9/Broadway).
Commenter suggests new phone number, but official website still has the number we have.
About the area
This is a very beautiful small city. I advise visiting during the summer months, especially when the race track is not in session. While the name of the city is Saratoga Springs, most locals just call it Saratoga.
Hours of Operation Usually 8-4 M-F.
Judges
Hon. James E. Doern and Jeffrey Wait? Hon. Douglas C. Mills retired end of 2008.
Prosecutors
You might see either David A. Harper or James R. Davis from the DA's office here and they handle criminal cases. Both are excellent attorneys, in one of the finest prosecutor offices in upstate New York. Some say they get good pay and have a decent caseload. They usually handle speeding tickets too. The City Attorney handles code violations.
Type Of Cases Gets a fair number of DWI cases, perhaps due to the nightlife and number of tourists. Other criminal matters, along with small claims and even medium claims.

Old Comments about Saratoga Springs City Court (hide)

Nov 02 2010 01:18:40: This court is one of the most beautiful I've ever been unfortunate enough to be summoned to. Adorned in old fashioned decoration and bygone architecture, along with the portraits of past judges really paints the history on the walls. A unique experience for those used to typical town courts.
Nov 05 2009 19:53:57: I have to say that the employees there go out of their way to be of service. I got there at 4:00 on 11/4/09, they were closed. I had driven up from Schenectady and needed a small claims form. When someone was leaving, they went back in to get it for me. Believe me, that would not happen elsewhere!
Aug 05 2009 02:42:32: Phone number changed to 451-8780. And Casey was very nice, polite and helpful on the phone,
Jun 09 2009 21:52:48: I have to respond to the comment about Casey. I don't specifically remember that person, but we have always had good experiences with the staff in this court - everyone from the prosecutors and judges to the court clerks. - Warren Redlich
Jun 09 2009 20:38:04: I'm not sure who does the hiring at this court, but the secetary staff (Casey) is the rudest, most impolite person i've ever spoke with via telephone. She's no help, rather a headache.
