| About the area | Originally known as Brown's Settlement (1791) was renamed Berkshire in 1808. Birthplace of Edward R. Eastman (1885), Berkshire has many buildings listed in the National Register of Historic Places. The 1349 acres of Jenksville State Forest includes a 12 mile trail for horses, hiking & cross country skiing.
