About the area

The Plantation city area was formerly owned by the Everglades Plantation company giving rise to the name of the town. Two large shopping malls, Fashion Square Mall and Broward Mall, located across from each other on Broward boulevard are nearby. The city owned Plantation Preserve Park has within it a 7000 yard championship golf course, open to the public, and a linear park trail which runs through the golf course and 29 acres of wetland preserve.
