San Leandro enjoyed great attention during the Gold Rush in California and after its gold fields were emptied the Gold Rush moved on to the Bay area. Today the city’s gold is cherries which are grown in abundance here and I also a major supplier of them all over the United States. Today’s San Leandro is heavily built up city with industries and business areas and resident colonies. The emptiness of it is all gone forever and now it is just a concrete jungle.
