This county was formed back in the middle 1600´s and got its name from the Duke of Gloucester, Henry Stuart. Its also known as the "daffodil capitol of the world", which is a flowering plant. Mathews County is the friendly neighbor of Gloucester and many commercial bonds between the citizens of both counties increased the economical expectations of their governments. |
