Comments	Street address is roughly accurate for mapping purposes, but the actual address is 836 Highway 217, in the Mellenville zip code - 12544 - for some reason that does not map well on our site. The courthouse is in a different building than the main town offices. As you come up a hill, it is on the right, maybe 200 yards from the road. It has a deep, narrow parking lot.
About the area	A lovely town near the Massachusetts border, incorporated back in 1788.
Judges	Hon. Charles Hoag & Michael Brandon (new as of 1/1/2007)
Prosecutors	The Columbia County DAs office handles cases in Claverack Town Court, and have taken over for the Troopers. ADA might be Shane Zoni, a good guy. Deals on criminal matters arent always great, and they may be somewhat tougher on traffic than some other areas, but they are friendly and will work with you. Town Attorney is Robert Fitzsimmons from Hudson, but he usually is not here.
Type Of Cases	Claverack Town Court gets a fair number of speeding tickets from the Taconic State Parkway, along with the usual town court fare.

2008-09-14 13:45:45: My experience was that the court was about realizing money. When I showed up for an equipment violation without being on the docket, my fine was hastily lowered $20. before I spoke to the judge. A flip remark by the clerk to the judge implied that I should be satisfied. There was no mercy.
