| About the area | The Oquaga Creek flows through town. First settled in 1787 by William McClure & Capt Nathan Dean, both of New Hampshire. An industrious New Englander, Capt. Formed in 1821 from the town of Windsor, Sanford is the largest town in the county, including the villages of Deposit, North Sanford & McClure Settlement. |
