| Comments | Some believe the Columbia County DA's office is tougher than others, and that they can be more difficult to deal with. We've found them to be pleasant but firm. |
| About the area | It's thought that Hendrick Hudson was here. Some other group of people was here first, possibly the Mohicans. The county is home to Kinderhook, Chatham, Canaan, Ancram, and a variety of other wonderful spots. Massachusetts is to the east. Major highways in the County include the Taconic State Parkway, Route 22, and Route 9 (with offshoots). The Taconic in particular is heavily policed, so it's not a good idea to carry a loaded handgun in your glove compartment while you're on probation and speeding on the TSP. Or anywhere else for that matter. |
