Comments The justice court is located on the second floor of the village hall. Don't confuse Port Jefferson with Port Jefferson Station, which is located on the south side of the Railroad Station.
About the area Port Jefferson is on the north shore of LI in the town of Brookhaven. It was once a major whaling port and ship building community. A ferry shuttles passengers and vehicles across the Long Island Sound to Bridgeport CT. In the spring & summer the downtown district by the harbor bustles with patrons enjoying the many restaurants and shops.
Judges Honorables Peter Graham and John Reilly
Prosecutors Fred Johs, Esq. and Sean Russell, Esq.
Type Of Cases Parking/vehicle tickets, animal control issues, small claims, village code violations, criminal arraignments. Most cases are handled in District Court. Traffic Violations are usually handled out of Suffolk Traffic Violations Bureau in Hauppauge.
