Description:
James Quinn Auricchio, Esq. is a former Assistant United States Attorney with offices in West Seneca and Buffalo, New York. His practice focuses almost exclusively in criminal defense in State and Federal Courts, but a growing part of his practice involved vehicle and traffic matters, such as speeding tickets. In addition to his work for the United States Department of Justice, Jamie has served as an Assistant District Attorney in Erie and Monroe Counties. He started practice as a defense attorney in 2010, after 9 years as a prosecutor, and quickly earned distinction from his colleagues. In 2013, he was named a "Rising Star" by "Super Lawyers". He's one of only a handful of lawyers in New York State to earn this distinction. Martindale Hubbell has also presented him with its "Client Distinction" award for 2012 and 2013, based upon client feedback and reviews at avvo.com. His work has also received note from the Buffalo News, The Chicago Tribune and other media outlets. While he handles complex criminal litigation in higher courts, his practice also deals quite extensively with Vehicle and Traffic matters, and he handles hundreds of tickets each year in Courts across western New York State. From January 1, 2011 to January 1, 2013, 93 percent of his vehicle and traffic clients were able to eliminate the points that they would have gotten if convicted as charged without the need to appear in Court. Since 2010, he has worked to leverage the internet and other technologies to improve efficiency and reduce the costs of his services for people that are charged with a traffic infraction. As a result, his fees have dropped as much as 30 percent since 2010, while maintaining the same level of service for his clients, including other attorneys who frequently refer their clients or get tickets themselves. He's particularly proud of the work he has done for clients struggling with addiction and abuse issues. When a client expresses a desire to enter treatment or rehabilitation, he works collaboratively with evaluators and treatment providers to ensure his clients receive the care they need without sacrificing their legal rights. Jamie lives outside of Buffalo, New York with his wife and daughter. He has served on the Board of Directors for the University at Buffalo Law School Alumni Association (GOLD), as well as the Heritage Centers Foundation. He has also worked actively to support a number of organizations that provide assistance and education to children that have been diagnosed with Autism, in honor of his late son, Sean.
