About the area: Nutshell Arts Center is a community arts center in Hortonville where many artists from NYC have displayed their work. During the summer these artists have taken vacations in Hortonville and found Nutshell Arts Center. There is also a Weekend Chamber Music Series that provides entertainment to the town. About the area: Fort Lee is named after General Charles Lee. The George Washington Bridge that runs between NY and NJ crosses the Hudson River between Fort Lee and Manhattan. Fort Lee has a good percentage of people with Korean origin. About the area: River Vale was once upon a time referred to as the Over Kill neighborhood, because it was over the kill (on the other side of Hackensack River, kill being the Dutch word for creek). Although it boasts the most bars, boutiques, restaurants, and attractions than other villages on Fire Island to attract the tourists, there are several "restrictive" laws designed to curtail tourist "nuisances". There are heavy restrictions on popular summer activities such as bicycling, frisbees, playing on the beach, radios w/out headphones, and permits needed to barbecue after an inspection of the site. Dont plan a picnic on the beach either; theres no eating or drinking on the beach, and on most of the boardwalks. Rumors suggest that some of the tourists engage in non-traditional sexual practices, but we hope this remains behind closed doors, mostly.

About the area: The Sullivan Expedition traveled through the area in 1779. They fought the Iroquois and British so they could gain the land. The Iroquois were pushed out and the British defeated. The town is near many waterways and many tourists come here in the summer to take in some fishing and boating. Also, many families come to camp and hike.
