Peabody is a great area to live as it has a vibrant downtown and busy industrial park. Peabody was started as a tanning area in the 1800s and became a city in 1916. The city has tried hard in the last decade to refurbish its downtown and attract new people to the region. The city recreation department organizes several trips during the year and there are several festivals to attend. There are also several museums in the area that preserve their history. A historic house museum, information on the tanneries, and the Peabody-Essex museum is not far away. Golf, bodies of water - ponds even, and other greenspace. Nice spot.
