The Barn of VanDorn Tavern had secret basement rooms for stolen horses & escaping slaves; The Train That Never Was - the graded railroad bed for the proposed 1871 Pennsylvania & Sodus Bay RR is still traceable, going through town, as well as Five Mile Creek, which flows into the Tremen State Park Gorge. In the late 1800s, Enfield welcomed Dr. Hulda Gould Smith, a pioneer female practitioner. |
