ABOUT THE AREA
In La Junta you should visit the Bents Old fort and Historic Site. This was one of the areas that were used for settlement for the Naïve Indians when they walked the Santa Fe Trail from Missouri to New Mexico. The Old fort was constructed by them and also eventually it became a trading post.
