US 281 runs through town and it turns West where it meets SR 4 in the upper half of town.

Hoisington sits at the top of Cheyenne Bottoms sits at the top of Cheyenne Bottoms, a significant wetland and directly on the Wetlands and Wildlife National Scenic Byway. Cheyenne Bottoms is a place where you can see numerous endangered species of water fowl including the elusive whooping cranes as they migrate through the area twice a year. The city has a new modern activity center with a gymnasium, walking track, weight room, racquetball court and a common area where table tennis can be accomodated. An RV park is located next to the center.
