ABOUT THE AREA
Established back in the 1840s, this land is the son of Lamar and Nacogdoches counties. Hopkins County is a territory of rich natural resources and scenic views, named after Eldridge Hopkins according some sources and named after David Hopkins as per other historians. This witness of the Civil War is served by Sulphur Springs as its county seat reporting a total population of 14550 inhabitants. This county has almost 795 square miles of extension framed by the territories of Delta (north), Franklin (east), Wood (south), Rains (southwest), and Hunt (west) Counties.
