Cordova District Court

Cordova District Court is a part of the third judicial district of Alaska. Copper River highway, Point Whitshed road, Circa Inlet road and Eyal Lake, Power Creek road are the major roads in the Cordova area.

Cordova sits between two large bodies of water, Eyak lake and Prince william sound. The city has a new community building, Cordova center, which houses City Hall, the Cordova library, the Cordova Historical Society museum, and a conference center. The museum's exhibits display items which relate to the history of the early explorers to the area, the Native culture, Copper River Northwestern Railway/Kennicott Mine era and the development of the commercial fishing industry. The Ilanka Cultural Center museum has on exhibit a collection of prehistoric, historic and contemporary tribal artifacts from the Prince William Sound and Copper River Delta. Primarily the exhibits in this museum are intended to preserve the heritage and culture of the Eyak, Alutiiq, Ahtna, and Tlingit peoples and to allow all peoples to learn about the traditions of these tribes. The city maintains a fine indoor swimming facility in the Bob Korn memorial swimming pool. The city's Bidarki Recreation center is equipped with a weight room, Cardio machines and a basketball court which can accommodate volleyball, soccer, dodgeball and open gym.
