What a mish-mosh of big roads around here; SR 173 comes in from the Northeast touches the center section of town and departs to the Northwest while 134 comes into town, makes a couple of turns and departs. SR 134 leads to US 431 to the East.

About the area

Headland is trying to repeat its early success with an annual event; the Halloween Scream. As October ends everyone gets the chance to play dress-up, bob for apples and get the sweetest of treats. The square of Headland is transformed into a play land with hayrides, a haunted house and games for all ages. Then there is monstrous dance-off and costume contest. To top it off; at the same time the Great Pumpkin Fly-Off takes place each year at the Headland Municipal airport. There is a Young Eagles First flight for ages 8 to 17, Car show, Ultralights, Helicopters, Motor Gliders, a Military display and best of all a Candy Drop.
