Petit Jean State park was built in the 1930's by the Civilian Conservation Corps. Perched on a mountain top; this park has cabins, Mather Lodge, a restaurant, swimming pools, a campground and fly-in campground, boating and fishing on Lake Bailey, hiking trails and close to 100 foot high Cedar Falls. The visitor center exhibits relate to the park's history and depict the natural resources and geology of the area. Take the kids to Barnyard Friends & Stables where they can enjoy the petting zoo, pony rides, train rides, goat milking and try their hand at bottle and hand feeding of the animals. Adults might want to take one of the 50-minute horse trail rides.
