Lonoke Circuit Court is more formally known as the the Twenty-Second Circuit Court of Lonoke county in the Arkansas Judicial Circuit court system. It is located in the same building as the Lonoke County court.
About the area
The Lonoke County Museum is a particularly interesting place to visit especially with regards to displays about the Civil War. The museum is housed in the historic Scott Building, which dates back to the 1880's. It went through several uses as a residence, a doctor’s office and a car dealershipand is located in the Lonoke Historic District. In addition to having a a genealogy center such as exhibits representing major events from local history, such as the building of the railroad from Memphis, Tennessee, to Little Rock (Pulaski County); the Cherokee Trail of Tears; and the Civil War–era Military Road across the county. The most interesting exhibits of all are the four dioramas which show the Civil War Skirmish at Brownsville, the Indian mounds at the Toltec site in Lonoke County, the town of Lonoke in the late 1890's and Ebert’s Field, a local airfield and the “Flying Jenny” airplanes of World War I.
