About the area |
Heifer Learning center in Perryville is a learning center and demonstration farm run by Heifer International. The Heifer Ranch is a farm complete with gardens and animals including water buffalo, camels and traditional farm animals such as pigs and goats and is the Global Village. Recreated in this village is a collection of international homes modeling many of the countries in which Heifer works. The program offered here provides participants with a first-hand look at the challenges surrounding hunger and poverty. The objective of the programs is to promote Heifer International's mission to work with communities to end hunger and poverty and care for the Earth.
