If you are looking for the major road going through Elm Springs, it would have to be SR 112.
About the area
If you came to this area before around 1831, you would not have found any settlers. After that and over several years until around 1851 different settlers came here and acquired land. One of them found great springs of power strong enough to run a water-mill opened a mill around 1844 which became the nucleus of the village. Another settler became his partner and gave the name to the town. This settler opened the first store in town and soon afterwards the town was home to a blacksmith shop. After the Civil War the town grew to include a hardware store, general merchandise store, drugstore, shoe cobbler, evaporators, canning factories, a rock quarry, lime kilm, telephone office, theater, restaurants, a garage and a hatchery. The first schools to be established in the town were in the form of academies.
