Some young folk have been caught up in drug troubles, with a bizarre 2008 story of a local teen framed by her ex-boyfriend, who planted drugs in her car and called the cops. Talk about a backfire, the cops figured it out and searched his car, finding all kinds of stuff he wouldn't want found.

About the area

Jackson is the city center for Amador County and also the business center. Jackson Main street which is also the downtown has many antique shops and other shopping and dining areas. Jackson Rancheria is a casino combined with hotel. People flock here in winters. The Underground caves extend to here so Jackson is also a popular place for visiting and touring these caverns. Other kinds of activities are camping and picnicking. Mount Zion State Park is nearby too.
