Lassen County is a mixture of the High Desert environ and the forest. So you have the best of both worlds here. Also the Lassen National forest headquarters here and if you are planning a visit to the forest you are at the right place. There are more wild animals to find here because of the Desert environment. Reno is also close by and you can plan a day trip to Reno.
