The area surrounding this Tallahassee courthouse is fortunate to have many parks and recreational sites. Fred O. Drake Jr. park includes Lake Ella and offers fishing, some wild life and a public sidewalk for those wishing to take a stroll around the lake. Winthrop park has a tennis center. Lafayette park offers a walking trail and Piney Z lake. Other parks in the area are McCord, Governors, Myers, Cascades, and more.
Tallahassee is somewhat known for state government. Seems strange to have it so far removed from the population, which is further south and pretty different in climate, etc.
