Nearby Dade Battlefield Memorial Park is the scene of annual reenactments of the battle which started the second Seminole and took place on the site. The park includes a nature trail, playgrounds and a picnic area. For that weekend getaway the West coast of Florida and Lake Panasoffkee, a great area for fishing and boating are only a short drive away. The city has a relatively low per household and per family median income.
