About the area

Crawfordville lies on the edge of the Apalachicola National Forest which occupies a large part of Wakulla County. The largest portion of the county population resides outside of Crawfordville and another municipality. Nearby Wakulla Springs State Park holds one of the largest and deepest freshwater springs in the world. Are there saltwater springs? The park has a large number of wildlife including alligators, turtles, deer and birds. There is an old lodge in the park with a full service restaurant and guest and meeting rooms.
