Atlantic District Court

Atlantic District Court serves as the district court of Cass county in the Fourth judicial district of Iowa. US 6, US 71, SR 92 and Sr 148 all run through Cass county.

Around 1868 three men created the Atlantic Town company to promote the town and about one year later the town was declared the county seat of Cass. Of all things this city has an annual Coca-Cola Days celebration. This event is one of the biggest mini-conventions of Coca-Cola collectors in the United States. The city is sometimes referred to as the Coca Cola capitol of Iowa. The celebration includes tail gate parties, a swap meet, parade and a visit to the Coca Cola museum. Two small structures date back to the old days in this area. The Log Cabin, circa 1863, which was was located on the Charles Gipple farm in Pymosa Township has been reassembled in City park and the Old Country School house is located in Sunnyside park. Attesting to the Danish influence in the area are the Danish Immigrant museum and the Danish windmill brought over to this country in the 1970's. Both are located in Elkhorn, North of Atlantic.
