Muscatine District Court

The Muscatine district court is in the Seventh judicial district of Iowa. Roads available to motorists in Muscatine county are US 61, SR 22, SR 38, SR 70 and SR 92.

Muscatine, seat of Muscatine County, was started when three representatives from Illinois, of all places, came to this territory to set up a trading post around 1833. Two others stopped here and settled with one of them supplying wood to the steamboats providing access to the frontier, opened by the Blackhawk Purchase giving rise to calling the settlement, Casey’s Woodpile. However the naming of this town was not over. It went from Newburg at the time the first plot was laid out, to soon be replaced by Bloomington. When this name led to confusion with the towns of the same name in other states, the name was changed to Muscatine. The town has several recreational facilities such as the Aquatic center with 5 slides, a zero depth entry area, interactive play structure with kid slide and spray features; Kent-Stein park with illuminated baseball and softball diamonds and horseshoe pits and picnic areas; two community buildings, Pearl City Station and Riverview center; a Skate park and The Muscatine Soccer complex, which has eight full sized super soccer fields.
