Sandpoint District Court

Sandpoint District Court is the Bonner county First judicial district court of Idaho. The Bonner county Magistrate court is located in the same building. US 2 and US 95 run parallel through Sandpoint and meet just North of the city.

Sandpoint is located in a beautiful setting with Lake Pend Oreille on one side of the city and the Selkirk and Cabinet mountains surrounding it. The public City Beach has sandy beaches, volleyball, tennis, basketball, boat ramps and docks. WaterLife Discovery Center, on the Pend Oreille River, has interpretive trails and is available for self-guided tours of fish habitat. The Bonner County Historical museum is located in Lakeview Park which has many picnic areas, a playground, tennis courts and the Native Plant Society arboretum. The exhibits in the museum allow the visitor to catch a glimpse of the era of Native Americans, David Thompson and the fur traders, steamboats and railroads as they relate to the area. You can see a pioneer kitchen, an Spokane Iinternational railroad caboose and David Thompson's Boat Encampment. David Thompson was a fur trader, born in London, who explored the Pend Oreille River in the Fall of 1809.
