Mount Sterling is the county seat of this community founded back in the late years of the 1830s from territories of Schuyler County. It is today home of almost 7000 people and it has a little bit less than 310 square miles of extension. The northern frame of this land is constituted by Schuyler County territories, the southern border is provided by Cass Morgan and Pike Counties; while the western and eastern frontiers are given by the land of Adams and Cass Counties respectively.
