Bureau County is part of Ottawa-Streator metro area and it was named after Pierre de Bureo (trader). 1/4 of the population residing in this territory home of a portion of the Hennepin Canal Parkway State Park, reports German Ancestry; while 1/10 of the population reports Irish ancestry.
