About the area

Shoals has about 800 residents and a court! US 50 and 150 will bring you here. Jug Rock is the site to see here. It is a geological sandstorm formations by the White River. It stands 42 feet high with a flat projecting layer on top called "stopper". If you are in the area around the 4th of July, don't miss the "Catfish Festival". Because of the caves and cliffs in the area, bootleggers found good hiding places during Prohibition.
