About the area

Emporia is home to Emporia State University, an institution which offers both undergraduate and graduate degrees in many fields as well as as a Ph.D program in Library and Information Management. The school also offers an extensive number of online/off-campus programs. The William Lindsay White Civic auditorium is a source of pride to the city. City events,conventions, sporting activities, and commencement exercises have been held in this large facility.
