About the area

As the year 1887, arrived a good part of the town had been established. a bank, numerous retail establishments, a newspaper, a hotel, telegraph and express offices, and a money order postoffice. Besides its function as a trading point for an area adapted to agriculture and the raising of live stock it had springs which provided a never failing supply of pure water.
