US 1, US 1A, SR 3, SR 172 and SR 230 all meet in the city of Ellsworth. There are many other State Roads in Hancock county, some major and some lesser but either way they contribute traffic violators. |

Ellsworth sits in the midst of some large bodies of water; Graham lake, Green lake, Branch lake, Union River bay, Frenchman bay and Lower Patten pond and the Union river runs through it. Plenty of opportunity for residents and visitors to enjoy fishing and boating. If you want to do any commercial shellfishing in Frenchman Bay be sure to get your Regional Shellfish Conservation Shellfish License. Don't look to Branch lake for boating and fishing. This lake is the the source of the City's drinking water and its use is regulated by a city ordinance. Be sure to bring your chairs to the Knowlton School lawn Friday nights during July and August , for the open air cinema season where the city also invites you to bring a picnic. |
