About the area

The courthouse that was built in 1891 is definitely worth a visit. From here starts the scenic drive winding down the hill all the way to the Menominee River Basin. Crystal falls was once famous for the humungous fungus that took over the entire forest ranges. It is known to be the oldest living organism of the area and also the biggest. Several people come to see it even today. It was featured in several popular nature magazines including the National Geographic.
