The newly renovated Higginsville Family Aquatic center has a 30 ft speed slide, a 18ft vortex pool, a toddler slide with Tike Hut, a 1 meter springboard, a tidal tank spraying 50 gallons of water and a spiraling flume slide. Fairground Park is equipped to handle just about everybody’s recreational needs with a walking track, lighted baseball and softball diamonds, basketball courts, lighted horseshoe courts, shelter houses, grills, lighted tennis courts, a multi-purpose 4-H building, a community building, public restrooms, playground equipment, an amphitheater and open space areas. RV camping is also available in this park with electrical hookups, limited water hookups, and a dumping station. Tent camping is permitted in specific areas. Confederate Memorial Missouri State Historical Site located to the North of town, includes a park of close to 110-acres with seven ponds to fish and is home to four historic structures, including a Confederate chapel, a historic cottage, a farmhouse and a 1922 hospital building.
