| About the area |
Although the decline of the Golden Sawmill, which employed just about everyone in town, led to a decline in the town's prosperity; the building of the railroad in the early 1900's helped resurrect the town and several years later it was incorporated. There are still only about 200 people living here with a low family median income in an area covering about 1/2 a square mile.
