Quiet and peaceful could be two of the attributes of the fourth largest city in North Carolina and also the county seat of Forsyth County. Incorporated back in the early 20th century, this territory of almost 133 square miles of extension has approximately 225000 residents and it is the homeland of the Southeastern Center for Contemporary Art, Horne Creek Historic Farm, and the Old Salem district. As a very interesting detail, this territory witnessed the creation of the multimillionaire empire of Krispy Kreme in the 1930s and the Wachovia Bank and Trust back in the 1910s.
